What is Baptism?
Baptize in its definition means to be immersed. Water baptism is when you are completely immersed in water as a symbol of being buried with with your old self, being cleansed of your sin, and being resurrected into new life Jesus.

Why be Baptized?
Water baptism is not only something written about all throughout the Bible, but something Jesus commanded those that chose to follow Him and leave their old life. Baptism also is a way to publicly celebrate your new life in Jesus.
When Should I be Baptized?
Baptism takes place after you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Once you have admitted your are a sinner, believed in Jesus to be the Savior, and confessed your sins and repented you are then ready to be baptized. If you're ready to be baptized click the "Baptism Sign Up" button or Contact us at the bottom of the page.
Am I Ready? Ask yourself:
- Have I personally made the decision to follow Jesus?
- Do I understand that Jesus—not baptism—is what saves me?
- Do I understand that baptism represents leaving my old life behind and beginning a new life with Jesus?
- Am I ready to publicly say, “I have decided to follow Jesus”?
If you feel like you’re ready to be baptized, we encourage you to watch one of the baptism videos to make sure you understand what baptism means and the step you’re choosing to take. Then take a few minutes to read through the “What to Expect” section so you’ll know exactly what Baptism Sunday looks like.
A Note for Parents
At CLC, we generally baptize children beginning around age 8. This isn't because the Bible gives a specific age for baptism. We simply want children to be old enough to understand that following Jesus is their own decision and to understand what baptism represents.
We encourage parents to watch the Kids Baptism Video with their child and talk about it together. Rather than asking only, “Does my child want to be baptized?”, consider asking: “Does my child understand why they want to be baptized?”
If they understand the decision they've made to follow Jesus and can explain in their own way what baptism means, they may be ready.

What to Expect on Baptism Sunday
We celebrate baptisms at CLC about four times each year, typically following our 10:00 AM Sunday service. Baptisms usually begin around 11:30 AM. There's no need to register ahead of time. If you've decided you're ready to be baptized, here's what you need to know! Our next Baptism is on November 22, 2026.
Check In
After service, head to the CLC Café and look for the Baptism Check-In table. We'll have you fill out a short Baptism Information Card so we have your name and the information we need for that day's baptism. From there, our team will let you know where to go and help you get ready.

Where Does Baptism Happen?
Most baptisms are held in the Children's Center. Our summer baptism is a little different! Weather permitting, we hold it outdoors. Specific location information will be available for each Baptism Sunday.
Can My Family Come With Me?
Absolutely! We want your family and friends to celebrate this moment with you.
When it's your turn, your family is welcome to come up on stage with you and take photos or videos. We also typically have someone from CLC taking photos during baptisms.
What Happens When It's My Turn?
We'll call your name when it's time for your baptism. Before you're baptized, you'll have an opportunity to briefly share something about your decision to follow Jesus or why you're choosing to be baptized. There is absolutely no pressure to speak. If you'd rather not share, that's completely okay. Then it's time to be baptized and celebrate!
Baptism is a big moment, but you don't need to be nervous about knowing exactly what to do. Our team will be there to guide you through it.
That's It! No application. No advance registration. No complicated process.
