Hi CLC parents!

Do you remember high school? So do I. There was a lot I loved about it and a lot I didn’t. Those four years were – seemingly – a lot easier for the popular crowd. If you wanted to be part of the popular crowd you had to dress right, act right, and speak right. Jesus, though, never seemed to be interested in ingratiating Himself into the popular crowd. He was actually rejected in His hometown for saying unpopular things.

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. https://store.gocurriculum.com/pages/go-plus-videos?id=3145994174510

It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.

Bible Story: Jesus is Rejected in Nazareth

Big Idea: Jesus was rejected for saying unpopular things.

Memory Verse: “Am I now trying to get people to think well of me? Or do I want God to think well of me? Am I trying to please people? If I were, I would not be serving Christ.” Galatians 1:10 (NIrV)

You know what’s crazy? I’m so often still the high school version of myself. I still want to be popular. I want to be liked. I don’t want to offend anyone. I bet you can relate. But when it comes to what matters – when it comes to the truth about who God is and what He has done – maybe saying unpopular things is the most loving thing we can do.

In Him,

Pastor Ashley
